Primary Schools

Group work programmes exploring health related issues in a fun and interactive way.6 week group work based programmes for young people aged 8-11 identified through outreach and detached strategy.

Interactive, fun and educative workshops delivered to Primary 5,6,7 classes in local primary schools, themes include smoking, alcohol and substance misuse as well as preparing primary 7 classes for transition to secondary school

Disengaged Youth – Outreach/detached

We encourage young people to make positive lifestyle choices through group work programmes.Group work programmes are needs led and incorporate personal development, issues relating to young people’s health, cross community and single identity, alternatives to substance misuse, anti social behavior and interface/sectarian violence.

Programmes are OCN accredited including Substance misuse, using equipment within a health and fitness setting, and adventure learning.

Mentoring Mentoring programmes encourage personal development and positive change through one to one helping relationships.Programmes are young person centred, mentors use a mix of both counseling and youth work approaches to help young people to overcome challenges in their lives.

Approaches to mentoring incorporate young person’s interests as well as using challenging activities and nature as metaphors for positive lifestyle changes

Young People aged 16 – 24Young Parents

Volunteer Program

Young people aged 16-24 can avail of mentoring, young parents support program and the accredited volunteer program.Mentoring is particularly aimed at young people suffering with depression, anxiety and stress as a result of family issues, unemployment, health related issues and despair.

The young parents program provides a safe environment where parents can seek advice, support and guidance from one another as well as accessing information on issues such as money management, young people’s issues and communication within the family unit. Young parents are supported in developing aspects of themselves beyond the role of parent also.

The volunteer program encourages young people to become active leaders in their community by achieving accredited youth work qualifications and delivering youth programs to young people in their local communities.

Training Programs We deliver both accredited and non accredited training programs to the wider community.  Training programs include:Youth Work OCN Level 1 and Level 2

Drugs Awareness OCN Level1

Using Equipment within a Gym or Fitness Suite OCN Level 2
